Born October 4, 1988 in Littleton, Colorado, USA is an American actress and singer.
Graduated from high school in 2007. She then moved to New York, where she graduated from college in 2011, while playing guest roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Malice, Blue Blood and The Good Wife. After a supporting role on the Showtime series Homeland, Benoist joined the cast of the fourth season of Fox's Choir in the fall of 2012. In 2012, she was honored for Best Breakthrough of the Year by E !. In the fifth season, she was promoted to the regular squad. She left the show in early 2014, along with several other cast members.
In 2014, Benoist starred in the award-winning independent film Obsession. This led her to take on the role of the main character's friend in the 20th Century Fox film The Long Road. In January 2015, she landed the lead role on the CBS series Supergirl, beating dozens of other actresses in casting. She then landed the female lead in the Universal Pictures film The Lowriders. Since 2015, he has been starring in the new CBS series (since 2016 - The CW) "Supergirl".
