Born June 10, 1976, Alexandria, Virginia is an American cinematographer, director, screenwriter and producer.
In 2007, he directed and wrote Killer Party, co-starring his childhood friend Macon Blair.
In 2013, he released the film Catastrophe, which received critical praise. It holds a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 77/100 on Metacritic. The film was nominated for the John Cassavetes Prize at the 2015 Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2015, Saulnier directed his third feature film, the thriller Green Room, starring Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots.
Saulnier's next film was the adaptation of William Giraldi's 2014 novel Hold the Darkness for Netflix, written by Macon Blair.
