Born 1951, Canada - Canadian director, producer, and actor.
In 1986, Jerimaya starred in the cameo role of a nervous man in Ken Finkleman's comedy "Office", but Chechik's name appeared in the cinema in the late 1980s after the release of his debut work as a director - the full-length family comedy "Christmas Holidays", starring which starred Chevy Chase. And in April 1993 the second film of S. Chechik - "Benny and June", starring Johnny Depp and Mary Stuart Masterson, was released on wide screens. A year later, Jerimaya served as executive producer on his colleague Arturo Ripstein's biographical drama Queen of the Night, and continued work on his next film for Walt Disney Studios, Legends of the Wild West, which was released in 1995. Patrick Swayze starred in this adventure tape.
In the late 1990s, the director released two more full-length films - the detective thriller The Devil with Sharon Stone (1996) and the fantastic action movie The Avengers with Uma Thurman and Rafe Fiennes (1998). "The Avengers" was an adaptation of the popular science fiction series of the same name from 1965, and one of the episodes ("Too Much Water") inspired the director to create a full-length film. Despite the fact that the film was coldly received by professional critics and received several nominations in the category "worst film" at the California Golden Raspberry Festival, Chechik remained optimistic and continued to shoot. For a long period, starting from 2000, Jerimaya S. Chechik devoted himself to working on serials; he worked on such television projects as Tilt, Black Mark, Beast, Consciousness, Vault 13 and others. In the early 2010s, the director worked on the episodes Good Boys, Face the Wall, Being Human, Zoe Hart of the Southern State, and The Marshes .
In 2013, Chechik returned to big cinema and directed the romantic comedy I Love Your Wife, which was presented at the Toronto Film Festival. Australian actor Ryan Quarten and Canadian actress Sarah Canning were invited to play the main roles. In the same 2013, two TV series were released, in the creation of which Chechik also participated - "Motive" and "Tsarstvo". And a year later, the series "Spiral" and "Bitten" started on the screens, in which Jerimaya also acted as one of the directors.
