January 13, 1925 - October 18, 2000 - American actress, singer and dancer, one of the brightest stars of the "golden era" of Broadway. Over a career spanning over 60 years, Verdon has won the prestigious Tony Theater Awards four times. Since 1960, she was married to the popular American choreographer and director Bob Fosse, for whom all the years of their marriage was not only a spouse, but also a companion and muse, and after his death she remained a faithful guardian of his heritage. Her most memorable film credits include her recent roles in Cocoon (1985), Cocoon: The Return (1988), Alice (1990) and Marvin's Room (1996).
