Graduated from the University of New Orleans. He began his studies in the medical specialty, but quickly realized that this was not his calling. Moved to the drama department and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in dramatic arts and communication. Nichols wanted to continue his studies and attended several theater auditions for graduate school. However, due to a lack of funds, he refused further studies, starting to work as a loader.
