Born June 3, 1949, Paris, France - French writer of Armenian descent.
Graduated from the High School of Journalism in Paris. Before gaining fame, he changed several jobs, published collections of short stories and two novels * Bleu comme l'enfer * (1983) and * Zone erogene * (1984). His first major success was brought to him by the novel * 37?2 le matin * (1985), filmed in 1986 by Jean-Jacques Benex with Beatrice Dalle in the title role, and subsequently translated into more than twenty languages. To date, he has written more than 20 novels, four of them have been filmed. He has earned the reputation of "the most unpredictable writer in France", combining the Balzac tradition with the techniques of American cinema. A few years ago, TV presenter Antoine De Caunes introduced him to the Swiss singer Stephan Eicher, this acquaintance grew into a friendly and creative union, Gian wrote the lyrics for Stephan Eicher's songs in French. Philip Gian often changed his place of residence, traveled from Boston to Florence.
