Born August 19, 1988, New York, USA - contemporary dystopian and fantasy writer, actress and producer.
Mother - Polish artist Barbara Reeds (now Ross), father - German Edgar Gustav Roth. Veronica is the youngest of three children, she has a brother Karl and a sister Ingrid. When she was 5 years old, her parents divorced. The mother married Frank Ross, a financial consultant for landscaping companies.
Veronica was educated at Northwestern University (Faculty of Philology), where she also graduated from a creative program for future writers, and until she began to skip classes in order to start writing her own book, the girl was an excellent student. Her first dystopian novel, Divergent, debuted at number 6 on the New York Times bestseller list, and rose to number 2 in 2012.
In 2012 received a nomination for the Teen Choice Awards in the Choice Other: Book category.
