Born February 3, 1947, Newark, New Jersey - American writer and translator, actor, screenwriter working within the framework of postmodernism, absurdism and existentialism.

Best known for his criminal prose, in which he develops the problem of crime, the search for oneself and one's destiny. His New York Trilogy (1985-1986) won the Prix France Culture de Litterature Etrangere prize, and in 1986 was nominated for the Edgar Award Best Mystery Novel.
