Born July 24, 1968, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, USA is an American actress, singer, songwriter and writer, best known for her performances in musical theater, film and television.
Chenoweth began to study music as a child, performing Christian music, and later decided to pursue a career as an opera singer. In 1997, she made her debut on the Broadway stage. Chenoweth first rose to prominence after her role in the musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (1999), which earned her a Tony Award. In 2001, she landed her first lead role in the short-lived NBC sitcom Christine. In 2003, she rose to prominence for her starring role in the Broadway musical Wicked, which earned her Tony and Drama Desk nominations. From 2004 to 2006 she played the role of media consultant Annabeth Schott in the NBC political drama West Wing (2004-2006), and from 2007 to 2009 she played the role of waitress Olive Snook in the ABC comedy drama Dead on Demand. which earned her an Emmy in 2009.
As a professional singer and songwriter, Chenoweth has released four studio albums as well as several singles. She has guest-starred on many television shows such as Sesame Street and The Choir, for which she was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2011. She also starred in the ABC television series "Godly Bitch" in 2012. In feature films, she had roles in such films as The Witch (2005), The Pink Panther (2006), Madhouse on Wheels (2006), Four Christmases (2008) and You Again (2010) ...
In July 2015, she received a personalized star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
