Born December 1, 1966, Auckland (New Zealand) - New Zealand producer, director, screenwriter and actor.
At the age of 11 he moved with his parents to Papua New Guinea, from where he returned to Auckland at the age of eighteen. At 24, he moved to San Francisco, from where he often visited Los Angeles.
As a child, he dreamed of becoming an architect, but overdue the registration deadline for university due to a car accident. He soon moved to California, where, in one of the Pacific Data Images divisions, as CTO, he took part in the creation of Toys (1992) with Robin Williams and Angels at the Edge of the Field (1994) with Danny Glover.
He made his directorial debut in 2001 with the full-length cartoon "Shrek", which grossed a little less than half a billion dollars at the box office and won an Oscar in the nomination "Best Full-Length Cartoon". Even more successful was the second part of the cartoon "Shrek 2" (2004), which grossed just under a billion.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) is a fantasy film for family viewing. The high-budget ($ 180 million) film grossed over $ 750 million. The slightly less successful sequel to The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian was released in 2008.
