Born July 13, 1948, New York is an American producer, director, and actor.
In 1959, Joe's father enrolled Joe as a plaintiff with the American Civil Liberties Union, supporting the idea of ??abolishing prayer in public schools. The case was heard in New York, but received a lot of publicity and in 1962 reached the US Supreme Court. The court ruled that the practice of prayer was unconstitutional (First Amendment, Engel v. Vitale).
Throughout his career, Joe Roth has produced over 40 films and directed six films, including the 1990s comedy drama Cadillac (featuring the iconic Cadillac Coupe de Ville) and the 2001 romantic comedy America's Favorite.
In 2003, Premiere Magazine ranked the list of the most influential people in Hollywood in 2003, and put it in sixth place, marking it at the 76th Academy Awards. In October 2007, Roth announced that the transfer of rights to Revolution Studios to Sony Pictures was complete and would be closed. Joe Roth himself will be the producer of Sony Pictures.
On November 13, 2007, Roth, along with Paul Allen, became the majority owner of the Seattle-based MLS, Seattle Sounders, which has played since 2009 at Century Link Field.
