Born May 12, 1962 in Staten Island, New York - American film actor, film director and screenwriter.
began his career with the 1980s Brat Pack acting group.
Emilio was most successful as an actor during the mid-1980s and early 90s, when he starred in such youth films as The Breakfast Club (1985) and St. Elmo's Lights (1985), as well as became the partner of Richard Dreyfus in the detective "Surveillance" (1987). He was noted by the audience in the westerns "Young Archers" (1988) and "Young Archers 2" (1990), played in the sports drama "The Powerful Ducklings" (1992), in the parody comedy "Loaded Gun, Part 1" (1993) together with Samuel L. Jackson and the action movie Mission Impossible (1996).
He made his directorial debut in Wisdom (1986). Among his early works are Men at Work (1990) and War at Home (1996). He also filmed some episodes in such television series as The Protector (2003-2004), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation New York (2005), Numbers (2008-2009) and others.
A notable turn in his career was the highly social drama Bobby (2006), in which Estevez acted, as in most of his projects, as a director and actor. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
His last picture, the drama The Way, was shown at the Toronto Film Festival (September 2010).
