Ida is a band from New York. They play a kind of folk-rock, which is a mixed vocal part, mainly female vocals, all accompanied by acoustic guitar, piano, and other "folk" joys. Although they are often considered to be playing genres such as “slowcore” and “quietcore”, by their own assurance, they themselves have always played music that could be described as “kind of fast”, “mid tempo”, “kind of loud” , and “super loud”. Along with songwriters Daniel Littleton, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Carla Schickle, Ida's current lineup includes violinist Jean Langford (Anti Social Music) and drummer Ruth Keating (Malarkies, Naysayer). Everyone at Ida is singing and multi-instrumental. Since the 90s, Ida has released seven full albums, several EPs, and several singles on independent labels.
