Born October 28, 1965, Chicago, Illinois is an American actress.
Graduated from Maine East High School in 1983.
Took part in the Norman Lear talent show and later studied drama at New York University. In 1981, she made her debut in the romantic film Endless Love, which was followed by a role in the TV series Landmark Square. In 1984 she appeared in the youth film "16 candles". Hertz played her first notable role in the film Less than Zero, where her character is a drug addict's friend. Also, in 1987, she played the role of the vampire Star in the movie Lost Boys.
After working in Paris as a designer, Hertz returned to the United States where she landed a role in the blockbuster Tornado. In 1994, she appeared on an episode of Seinfeld. In 1997, Hertz periodically appeared as Dr. Nina Pomerantz in the TV series Ambulance.
In 2000, Hertz appeared in several episodes of the Fox series, Ellie McBeal. For this role, she was nominated for an Emmy in the category Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2002, Jamie Hertz returned to the series finale as a guest actress. She also played Gilda Radner in Gilda Radner: It's Always Something in 2002.
From 2002 to 2006, Hertz starred in the sitcom Naughty Parents. In 2005, she starred in the television film Despite All the Obstacles. In 2009, she appeared in several episodes of the series "Handsome". In 2011, she produced The Best Life, which was an Academy Award nominee.
