Born September 7, 1950, Los Angeles is an American actress.
Kavner attended the renowned Beverly Hills High School and graduated with honors in theater arts from San Diego State University in 1971.
After filming Roda, Kavner began acting in films. In 1992, she starred in the comedy drama This is My Life, written by Nora Efron. It was expected that the role would bring her massive popularity, but the film was received with restraint by critics and did not receive success from the public, after which Kavner switched to supporting roles and voice acting.
Since 1989, Kavner has voiced Marge Simpson, Selma Bouvier, Patty Bouvier, Jacqueline Bouvier and Gladys Bouvier in the television series The Simpsons.
Kavner has starred in several Woody Allen films, including Hannah and Her Sisters and Taking apart Harry, as well as the true-to-life film Awakening, directed by Penny Marshall, opposite Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
In the 2004 Disney cartoon The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata, Kavner voiced Timon's mother.
