Robert Kahn graduated from De Witt Clinton High School. At 18, he officially changed his name to Bob Kane. Back in high school, he was friends with the future creator of the comic "Spirit" Will Eisner. Bob studied at Cooper Union, then entered Max Fleischer's studio as a trainee animator in 1934.
In 1989, Kane published his autobiography Batman and Me and the second volume, Batman and Me, The Saga Continues, in 1996.
