Lived in Austin, Texas. At 18 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Graduated from the University of South California in 2002.
Austin is also a water skier. In 1997 he represented the American junior team at the Pan-American Championships. Austin was ranked third in the World Junior Rankings.
