Born March 4, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. His mother was a chartered accountant and his father was a non-commissioned officer. At the age of nine, Michelty moved to Los Angeles with his family. In high school, he excelled in sports: football and basketball. Williamson attended Los Angeles College. He took acting lessons at the University of Southern California. Later he received a certificate in the field of cinematography and filmmaking.
