Born December 21, 1971, Paris is a French film director, screenwriter and producer.
After school, Sylvain studied law at the Sorbonne University, but he did not finish his education, and continued to "gnaw the granite of science" at Pomona College in California, where he, as a talented student, was awarded a scholarship. White graduated with honors from two faculties - in the field of media sciences and film and television production. While still a student, Sylvain learned the skills of the screenwriting profession and managed to work at Propaganda Films with directors such as Michel Gondry and Spike Jones. After the release of the first short films about Sylvain, they started talking in professional circles and brought him to the forefront of the international film market. For his first work, he was awarded prestigious film awards, including a short film prize from the Directors Guild of America.
In addition, White has authored highly artistic video clips and TV commercials for channels in America, Japan and European countries. Professional critics have noted White's unusual visual style, skillful use of special effects and the filming technique that he selected for his music videos. Such fame attracted more and more clients to the aspiring director. His creative work has been highly acclaimed at various festivals, and in 2001 he won prizes at the MTV Music Video Awards and the Music Video Production Association Awards. In the commercial space, White made his commercial debut with Lugz, the winner of the 2003 Telly Awards. He offered them some innovative ideas and uses of 3D technology, which attracted everyone's attention in the advertising field.
In 2002, Sylvain White presented his first short work, Quiet, which opened the Grand Jury Prize Winner of the WorldFest and closed the HBO Short Film Awards as a finalist.
Following this, Sylvain directed several episodes for CSI: Miami (2003) and directed the drama Trio: Escort (2004), starring Brian J. White and Patrice Fisher. In 2006 he directed the horror film I Always Knew What You Did Last Summer and co-wrote the thriller Walled in the Wall by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (2007).

Three years later, Sylvain completed work on his next film - the crime comedy "Losers" with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana and Chris Evans in the lead roles. In 2011, Sylvain White tried his hand at another capacity - an associate producer in Julien Magna's dramatic thriller Faces in the Crowd.
In 2013, Sylvain authored two short films: a 7-minute musical "Chris Brown: Fine China" with Chris Brown and a 5-minute family movie "Bring the Love Back", which he shot from his own script. Also on June 26 of the same year, the world premiere of White's full-length detective thriller Miserere, starring Gerard Depardieu and Joey Starr, took place. The film was based on the novel of the same name by Jean-Christophe Granger, written by him in 2008. The thriller had very mixed reviews: critics reacted coldly to Sylvain White's new creation, accusing his film of an excess of violence, murder and child abuse, but most viewers did not stop such arguments, but only fueled their interest in the film, so Miserera succeeded collect a good amount at the box office.
