Born October 3, 1978, Honolulu, Hawaii - American actress.
After graduating from high school, Shannin moved to Los Angeles, where she was going to pursue a career as a dancer. She starred in several TV commercials and also worked as a DJ in local clubs. In 1999, casting director Francine Meisler spotted Sossamon at brother Gwyneth Paltrow's birthday party, where Shannin was helping out the DJ.
Her first film role was the lead female role in the adventure film A Knight's Story. She passed five auditions for the role of Jocelyn. In 2002, Shannin played the beloved character of Josh Hartnett in the romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights. She then starred in Rules of Sex, directed by Roger Avery and based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. Having starred in another film with Heath Ledger "Sin Eater", Sossamon temporarily stopped filming due to pregnancy. In 2002 she won the Young Hollywood Awards. Sossamon returned to film in 2005, although her roles have become less prominent.
The actress played the role of the vampire Coraline Duvall in the CBS series Moonlight, which aired in 2007-2008.
In the films Suicides: A Love Story (2006) and One Missed Call (2008), Shannin Sossamon played the main roles. She also played a small role in the December 2006 romantic comedy Exchange Vacation. In 2007, Sossamon appeared in the horror film Catacombs, which also starred the singer Pink.
In the TV series "The Pines" (2015) she played Teresa Burke, wife of Ethan Burke. Shannin Sossamon also played the role of Pandora in the third season of Sleepy Hollow (2015-2016).
