Born November 8, 1954, Nagasaki, Japan - British writer and producer of Japanese descent.

In 1960, the Ishiguro family moved to the British city of Guildford, the administrative center of Surrey, where Kazuo's father was invited to do research at the National Oceanographic Institute. Kazuo entered first grade school in Stuffton and then continued his studies at the Surrey Grammar School. After graduating from high school, he took academic leave for one year and went on a trip to the United States and Canada. He dreamed of becoming a musician, played in clubs, sent demos to producers, but without further success.

In 1974, Kazuo entered the University of Kent, where he received his BA in English and Philosophy in 1978. Was a social worker in London. In 1980, he received his Master of Arts degree from the University of East Anglia. One of the seminars Kazuo attended at the University of East Anglia was taught by Malcolm Bradbury and Ishiguro's mentor was the famous writer Angela Carter. In 1983, Ishiguro received British citizenship.

Ishiguro co-wrote the lyrics for several songs on the albums of American jazz singer Stacy Kent's 2007 Breakfast On the Morning Tram and The Changing Lights in 2013.

Kazuo Ishiguro's literary career began in 1981 with the publication of three stories in the anthology Introduction 7: Stories by New Writers. In 1983, shortly after the publication of his first novel, he was nominated for a grant as one of the "Best Young British Writers". He received the same encouragement for the same achievements in 1993.

Kazuo Ishiguro is a 2017 Nobel Prize winner in Literature.
